6Sigma.us Presents Comprehensive DFSS Training

6Sigma.us Design for Six Sigma training

Let’s Define DFSS (Design for Six Sigma)
What is DFSS and how does it apply to the practice of Six Sigma? Simply put, DFSS is a tool available to the Six Sigma practitioner to develop products, services and products. Unlike DMAIC, which improves existing products or services, DFSS is specifically designed with the customer in mind. It focuses on gaining a deep insight into customer needs using them to inform every design decision and trade-off in development.

The steps involved in the DFSS process are referred to as DMADV (Define-Measure-Analyze-Design-Verify):

1. Define: Voice Of Customers (VOC) – Quality Function Deployment (QFD) – Kano Analysis
2. Measure: Benchmarking – Capability Performance
3. Analyze: TRIZ – Process Simulation
4. Design: Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) – Design Of Experiences (DOE) – Pugh Matrix
5. Verify: Statistics Process Control (SPC) – Response Planning – Process Management

In other words, when developing a new process, product or service, DFSS guides every step to ensure the end result meets or exceeds every expectation of the customer.

Who Should Attend DFSS (Design for Six Sigma) Training?
Professionals across all platforms and industries can benefit from the DFSS training offered. Professionals should be focused on developing products, processes or services that are truly driven by the customer and unique to their current business model, not just rehashing old methods or products. The professional that will most benefit, of course, is one that is well versed in the Six Sigma methodology and practice.

Since DFSS is an operating tool of Six Sigma, professionals that hold a current qualification (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or Black Belt) will find the most value in this dynamic training. The course will enhance and supplement your current skills and knowledge base.
